Yes, I now have to wait for 2 weeks for the professor to post my grade for the last class of my MBA, which I finished August 1, 2007. Then GGU will post degrees and issue the pretty piece of paper that says my official degree is MBA.BUSA with Honors.
I am still looking around for a PhD program--but I have lots to keep me busy, as I am currently enrolled in an MA Human Resources program, along with an MS, Organization and Management Leadership degree program. As if that wasn't enough, I am taking a Genetics class at the local Community College, as a special interest.
Well, I "walked" at GGU Monterey's ceremony this Sunday, May 20th. I was thrilled to see a lot of my undergraduate friends get their Bachelor Degree's finally! I started out with most of them but finished a lot faster, then went on to get my MBA in one year--just to recap, I only had to do 10 out of the regular 16 classes since I did my undergraduate work at GGU as well, and got all of the class waivers.
Actually, I have one more session of my OP300 (Operations Management) class, plus the capstone class to to complete, MGT362--then I'll be done. So August 1 is the last day of class at GGU!
Here's the unofficial grade report: For Spring 2007, OP303 - A, FI300 - B.
Yes, it is 2007, and I have zeroed in on a Master's degree in Leadership, once I complete my MBA at GGU. It's at Capella University, MSOM (Master of Science in Organization Management) Leadership Concentration. And yes, though I complained about the per class tuition at GGU, this program is also $2k per class. Good news is that I think I'll get some waivers, and class equivialencies so that I will only have to take 8 classes.

Well, I'm sort of depressed that I received an A- in my MGT-300 (Managerial Analysis and Team Dynamics) to go along with an A- in MATH-104 (Regression Analysis), which has effectively made it difficult for me to get High Honors at graduation. I might have to take more classes than I need and hope I get an A in them so that I can reach the 3.9 GPA for High Honors. However, just "Honors" at graduation shouldn't be that bad.
Next term brings: OP-300, Operations Management; OP-303, Managing Innovation and Technology; FI-300, Corporate Finance; and MGT-362, Developing Strategies for Competitive Advantage--Capstone Class!!! So if I don't take any more classes, I'll be done in May 2007.
After some thinking about it, I've decided to pursue an MS in Organizational Leadership Degree (at another College--Hey, I love GGU, but the $2k per class tuition is kind of pricey), though I will probably get a graduate certificate or two as well at GGU (Finance and Human Resources). After that, it's off to get into a Ph.D. program.
Lastly, to everyone--get an education!!! It's been so easy in the MBA program, or should I say it seems rather more easy that getting my BA. Ok, it could be that I actually learned something as an undergraduate and I am merely applying it to my graduate work, or that I am actually a decent student. Whatever the reason, if a slacker like me can do reasonably well, so can anyone else.
